Admission donation for events at the Homestead of $2 per adult and $1 per child is requested to help defray expenses and aid in restoration efforts. Thank you!

June-October: Open for tours the 2nd and 4th Sunday each month, noon-4 p.m., with "Music on the Porch" offered certain dates. Watch this site for more details. NOTE: Closed on Corn Fest Sunday, Aug. 22.

Sept. 12: The Glidden Homestead will participate with a booth at DeKalb's annual Kite Fest, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., in the field next to Anderson Hall, near "Annie's Woods," off Lucinda Avenue. For more details about Kite Fest, visit dekalbareacvb.com/attractions/KiteFest

Oct. 24: Formal dediciation of the Blacksmith Shop, with regular tour hours, noon-4 p.m. Click here for more details about the Blacksmith Shop.

Nov. 7: Patent Day Celebration, noon-4 p.m., at the Homestead. Also, historian Steve Bigolin will lead a bus tour of DeKalb Barbed Wire Sites at 2 p.m. The cost is $8. The tour lasts about two hours. Seats are limited, so reservations and payment are due by Nov. 3 -- call (815) 756-7904 or email gliddenhomestead@juno.com

Nov. 21: Annual Holiday Open House & Antique Toy-Doll Show, noon-4 p.m.  

January-May: Glidden Homestead closed for tours.
